Iraqi-UN Meeting In Vienna Offers Little Prospect Of Breakthrough On OilSales Plan
Although it is now scheduled that a UN team headed by Assistant SecretaryGeneral Kofi Annan will meet with Iraqi oil officials in Vienna on 6-7 Januaryto discuss Baghdad's objections to the UN plan for Iraqi oil sales, the meetingis clearly not expected to lead to any breakthrough that would permit an earlyresumption of Iraqi oil exports.
