Saudi-Japanese Joint Refining Venture Could Reach 750,000 B/D
The projected joint refining venture between Saudi Aramco and a Japanesegroup headed by Nippon Oil is turning out to be much bigger than originallymooted. When agreement on a joint feasibility study on the project was reachedlast May (MEES, 3 June 1991), it was thought that the venture would envisage asubstantial 450,000 b/d of refining capacity - 150,000 b/d in Japan and 300,000b/d in Saudi Arabia.
