Second Lebanese Bank Goes into Liquidation
The Lebanese Bank Tohme announced on 28 January that it was ceasing operations and would begin reimbursing depositors soon. In a statement published by the local daily al.Nahar, the bank said that it had presented the Banque du Liban (central bank) with "sufficient capital to cover its obligations". Ear- lier in January Banque Libano-Bresilienne went into voluntary liquidation....
