Soviet Oil Exports Fell 46% during 1991
The independent Russian news agency Interfax reported on 8 February that oilexports from the Soviet Union fell 46% during 1991 to 53.9mn tons (1.078mn b/d),down from 99mn tons (1.98mn b/d) during 1990. Quoting experts from the RussianCommittee for External Economic Affairs, Interfax added that exports ofpetroleum products fell from 27.5mn tons in 1990 to 21.9mn tons in 1991, adecline of 20%.
