Proposed UN Sanctions Will Not Affect Libyan Oil Exports
In the past week the oil market has succeeded in creating a great deal ofsmoke with remarkably little fire in its treatment of the Libyan sanctions issue(for political analysis, see Section C.) Prices rose by over 50cents/B, largelyon speculation that the Libyan controversy might spill over to end up in a haltto Libyan oil exports, either as a result of UN action or retaliatory measuresby Libya itself.
