Modest Increase in Syria's 1992 Draft Budget
The Syrian draft budget for 1992, which was presented to the People'sAssembly (parliament) last week, envisages a 9.9% increase in spending toSL93.04bn ($4.60bn) from SL84.69bn ($4.19bn) the previous year. The draft budgetallocates SL56.79bn for current expenditures (up 8.4% from SL52.37bn in 1991)and SL36.25bn for investment expenditures (up 12.2% from SL32.32bn in 1991)....
