Oman Hikes Minimum Capital Requirements for Local and Foreign Banks
Several Omani banks are raising new capital or contemplating mergers withother banks, following a Royal Decree stipulating that all local banks must havepaid-up capital of at least OR10mn ($26mn). Bank of Muscat and Oman Arab Bankare raising their paid-in capital to OR10mn, but it is unlikely that the fourother banks which do not already meet the new standards...
