Siemens Bid for Qeshm Power Plant Fuels Row over Bushehr Nuclear Facility
Siemens of Germany and the Qeshm Free Trade Authority signed a letter ofunderstanding in Tehran on 2 August for the construction of a 1,400 MW,gas-fired power plant on Qeshm island to be partially operational by autumn1994. The value of the intended deal was not disclosed, but it is understoodthat Siemens would invest some $340mn into the first stage of the plannedproject.
