Iraq Spuds Deep Exploratory Wildcat in Western Region
Iraq has spudded its first exploration well in the western region of thecountry. The deep wildcat is programmed to test a structure called Akkas to atarget depth of 5,000 ms., according to the first issue of a new monthlymagazine Oil and the World published by the Oil Ministry. Previous seismic workhas indicated the presence of a big structure at Akkas - 35 kms. long and 7 kms.wide.
