Egypt Eases Import Restrictions, Removing Protection for State Firms
New Egyptian customs regulations which became effective at midnight on 7August have reduced the number of banned imports and sharply reduced thepunitive customs duties on many others. Thirty goods have been removed from theblacklist, leaving 70 still on it. Foreign cars, which were previously on theblacklist, may now be imported according to a quota system...
