Sahl Gas Field Officially Inaugurated
The Libyan leader, Colonel Mu'ammar al-Qadhafi, on 20 September officiallyinaugurated the plant for the treatment and production of natural gas at theSahl gas field, located in the Sirte Basin. The field, discovered in 1983, has15 wells and is currently producing 150mn cu. ft./day of natural gas and 4,000b/d of condensates. It is operated by the state-owned Sirte Oil Company withheadquarters at Mersa al-Brega.
