Shuaiba Port Reopened: Clearance Work Continues on Shuwaikh and Mina al-Ahmadi
The Kuwaiti port of Shuaiba was reopened to shipping on 12 March by US andBritish naval ships after 100 frogmen of the coalition forces had cleared apassage through Iraqi minefields. The British coastal minesweeper HMS Cattistockand the US command ship La Salle sailed into the port followed by two tankers -a Soviet tanker and a UAE tanker - and a US tug with a water laden tanker...
