Iraq Pleads With UN For Five-Year Moratorium On Reparations Payments
Faced with a staggering bill for war reparations under UN Security Councilresolution 687, which could deprive it of up to 50% of its oil income for therest of the decade or more, Iraq is pleading with the UN for a moratorium of atleast five years on the start of its payments into the projected compensationfund.
