Saudi Arabia's Second Gold Mine Starts Up
Saudi Arabia's gold mine at Sukhaybarat in the Qasim Province, some 300 kms. northeast of Madinah and 200kms. southwest of Buraidah, started up in mid-May. The first gold mine in theKingdom at Mahd al-Dhahab went on stream in 1988. The Sukhaybarat mine isoperated by the Saudi Company for Precious Metals - a 50/50 joint venturebetween Saudi Arabia's Petromin and Sweden's Boliden - which was set up in early1990....
