Iraq Lifts Restrictions on Withdrawals from Local Bank Accounts
The Iraqi Finance Ministry has lifted restrictions on withdrawing money frombank accounts imposed shortly after the beginning of the air war on 17 January.The restrictions limited withdrawals from savings and checking accounts toID400 per month, equivalent to $1,280 at the official rate, or about $50 atthe unofficial rate.
