Shell Buys First Kuwaiti Crude Export Cargo
Shell has finally emerged as the purchaser of Kuwait's first post-war export shipment of crude. Of the 1.9mnbarrel cargo,which was loaded on the 260,000 dwt tanker Thorness on 26-27 July, sometwo-thirds will be delivered to Shell France and the remainder to Shell UK. Thesale of the cargo had been delayed owing to uncertainties about the quality ofthe crude (MEES, 12 August). Meanwhile, no buyer has yet been found...
