Huge Increase in Saudi Trade Surplus

Saudi Arabia's trade surplus more than doubled in 1990 to reach SR76.2bn($20.3bn), according to figures carried by the official Saudi Press Agency(SPA). The agency's report did not give a detailed breakdown of the figures, butit is assumed that the increased surplus is a result of higher oil prices andexport sales in the second half of the year.
