Oil Demand in Non-OECD Countries Rose 2.5% in 1985-1989

Oil demand in the non-OECD countries rose by 2.7mn b/d, or 2.5% annually,during the period 1985-1989, according to the latest issue of the IEA monthlyOil Market Report. Much of this growth was in the Asia/Pacific region, where oildemand increased by 1.3mn b/d, or 7.9% a year, compared to a rate of 2.1% duringthe previous five years.
