Iraq Secures $5.5Bn From World Bank And IMF
Iraqi Minister of Finance Bayan Jabr, said in a recent TV interview that Iraq has obtained a $1bn loan form the World Bank and a $4.5bn loan from the IMF and that, as an IMF member, Iraq is entitled to borrow a further $1.8bn on concessionary terms. The minister added that Iraqs budget surplus of $15bn at the end of 2008, held at the Development Fund of Iraq, had contributed to saving his country...
