Sharjah's Ruler Dismisses Crown Prince
The Ruler of Sharjah, Shaikh Sultan ibn Muhammad al-Qasimi, has dismissed hiselder brother, Shaikh 'Abd al-'Aziz al-Qasimi, as Crown Prince and Deputy Rulerof the UAE Emirate of Sharjah. In a decree issued on 4 February and broadcast onSharjah TV, the Ruler abolished his earlier decree issued on 17 June 1987 whichappointed his brother, Shaikh 'Abd al-'Aziz Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler.
