2Q Japanese Contract Liftings from Kuwait Fall to 180,000 b/d
Term contract liftings of Kuwaiti crudes by Japanese buyers are to be reducedto 180,000 b/d in the second quarter, as compared with the 1Q level of 230,000b/d, MEES understands. The 50,000 b/d drop is attributable to the suspensionof 2Q liftings by Kanematsu and Showa-Shell under the impact of the currentmarket weakness. Both are expected to resume contract liftings in 3Q.
