Construction of 10 More Berths at Umm Qasr Port
The state-owned Faruq Construction Company has completed the construction of10 new berths at the Umm Qasr port in the northern Gulf at the cost of around$286mn, according to the Iraqi News Agency (INA). The new facilities, which alsoinclude 9,300 sq. ms. of storage capacity, can handle 2.5 million tons annuallyof dry cargo. Umm Qasr already has eight berths built in 1961 with a capacity of3mn tons/year....
