Bapco Refinery Processed 243,000 B/D in 1989
The 250,000 b/d refinery at Awali in Bahrain managed and operated by theBahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) - owned 60% by the Bahrain Government and 40%by Caltex - processed 90.2mn barrels of crude in 1989, or an average of 243,698b/d - its highest throughput since 1981, according to the company's 1989 AnnualReport. In 1988, Bapco's throughput amounted to 89.9mn barrels or an average of242,887 b/d.
