US Oil Imports Averaged 8.4mn b/d in First-Half 1990
US oil imports during the first half of 1990 increased to an average of 8.4mnb/d, or a record 49.9% of domestic demand, according to the latest issue of theAmerican Petroleum Institute's Monthly Statistical Report. The previous peaklevel for imports was 48.8% of demand, set in the first six months of 1977. USoil imports have increased by 80%, or 3.7mn b/d, since the first half of 1985.
