US Reluctant to Release Strategic Stocks to Dampen Oil Supply Crisis
The US Government has so far done little or nothing to curb the dramatic risein oil prices, either by issuing guidlines to the oil companies to reducetheir inventory or initiating withdrawal from its own Strategic PetroleumReserve (SPR), despite the fact that over 7% of (non-CPE) world oil supplieswere cut off earlier this month because of the Gulf crisis.
