Sulphur Production to Start in 1991
The Freeport Sulphur Company of the US has discovered high quality sulphurdeposits with a thickness of 124 ft. east of al-'Arish in north Sinai, accordingto Egyptian Oil Minister Abd El-Hady Kandil. The Minister, who visited thesite of the discovery, is quoted by the Cairo daily al-Ahram of 29 October assaying that a joint Egyptian/Freeport company will start production in threeyears' time at a rate of 250,000 tons/year of...
