Saudi Trade Surplus Rises in 2Q 1988
Saudi Arabia has announced a trade surplus of SR1.5bn ($400mn) in the secondquarter of 1988, sharply up from SR300mn in the corresponding period of 1987.According to foreign trade statistics published by the Saudi Ministry of Financeand National Economy, total exports rose to SR23.1bn in 2Q 1988, up 14.9% from2Q 1987, while total imports increased 9.1% to SR21.6bn in 2Q 1988.
