Jordan Trims Spending as Revenues Shrink
The Jordanian Government budget for 1989 incorporates sharply reducedforecasts of revenue, with a higher deficit, higher debt service burden andlower development spending. In foreign currency terms, the budget cuts are theequivalent of a 38% drop in domestic revenue, a 58% cut in development spending,and a 33% reduction in total expenditure.
