Work Starts on Yusifiya Power Plant
Soviet and Iraqi officials laid the foundations last week for the 1,260 MW dual-fuel power station at Yusifiya, some 40 kms. Southwest of Baghdad. The Soviet firm Technopromexport was awarded a turnkey contract for the project worth ID241mn ($770mn) last July.
