Italy and USSR Sign MTBE Joint Venture
Italy's Ecofuel of the ENI Group and the Soviet refinery of Mazeichiair (MNPZ)signed a Deed of Partnership on 3 February establishing the Ecolita company - ajoint venture capitalized at $46mn responsible for the production and marketingof gasoline components, MTBE and alkylate. Ecolita will build a $230mn plant atthe Mazeichiair refinery in Lithuania with a capacity of 350,000 t/y of MTBE and160,000 t/y of alkylate....
