Iraq Reimposes Economic Controls
With Iraq's privatization program barely two years old, severe inflationaryproblems have forced the re-imposition of total price control in the country. Theproblems were officially acknowledged six months ago (MEES, 23 January), andsince then the authorities have taken two steps which effectively return thecountry to the status of a command economy.
