SCA Commissions Feasibility Study on Expansion of Suez Canal
The Suez Canal Authority has commissioned a $2mn feasibility study on thewidening and deepening of the Suez Canal to enable it to accommodate fully-ladentankers of up to 270,000 dwt, as against 150,000 dwt at present. However an SCAdredging program now in progress will enable the Canal to accommodate tankers ofup to 180,000 dwt.
