AID FLOWS
EC Extends Aid to Syria and the North African States
The European Community (EC) agreed earlier in March to provide Syria withmachinery and equipment worth $5mn for a potable water scheme at Dair al-Zur inthe eastern part of the country and to grant $11mn to the Institute of AdvancedResearch in Damascus. The EC also agreed to extend ECU2.9mn ($3.6mn) to Tunisiaand Algeria to finance agricultural projects in the two countries....
