Iraq Plans to Privatize 47 State-owned Industries
The Iraqi Government has decided to sell 47 state-owned industrial plantsto the private sector, according to a recent announcement by the newly-appointedIraqi Minister of Industry and Military Industrialization, Mr. Husain Ramil, whowas quoted as saying at a meeting with Iraqi businessmen that the planned saleis designed to give the Iraqi private sector a wider role in the country'seconomic development.
