IEA Study Sees OPEC With 50% of World Output in 2000
Even though oil's share in total primary energy use in the member countriesof the International Energy Agency (IEA) is likely to decline from 43% in 1984to around 40% in 1990 and 36% in 2000, it "will clearly remain the mostimportant energy source until the end of the century and even beyond,"according to an IEA study presented to the 13th Congress of the World EnergyConference in Cannes last week.
