UAE Bad DebtsEstimated at $2.9bn
The Governor of the Central Bank of the UAE, Mr. 'Abd al-Malikal-Hammar, said last week that the total volume of bad and doubtful debts,including interest, held by the commercial banks in the UAE was estimated atDhlO.5bn ($2.9bn) at the end of October 1986. This, he said, accounted for 30%of all loans to the private sector.
