NRA Contracts Czechoslovakian Firm to Drill Geothermal Well in Jordan
The Jordanian National Resources Authority (NRA) has contracted aCzechoslovakian firm to drill an experimental geothermal well in the Zarqa Ma'inarea to a depth of 1,200 meters at a cost of JD100,000 ($290,000). The NRApreviously drilled nine geothermal wells in various areas of the country, ofwhich two showed encouraging results.
