IDA Lends Sudan $47mn
The International Development Association (IDA), the soft loan agency of the World Bank, has agreed to provide Sudan with two loans totaling $47mn, according to a statement issued on 7 May. The first credit, for $38mn, will support a project to increase generating capacity around Khartoum by installing two oil-fuelled steam thermal generating units of between 45 and 60 megawatts each, as well as training and technical assistance...
