Iraq Resumes Attacks on Shipping: Kuwait Insurance Premium Rises
The lull in the shipping war in the Gulf since the Iraqi attack on the USS Stark on 17 May ended last week with Iraq attacking at least two ships as well as Iran's oil export terminal at Kharg Island. Meanwhile a fourth vessel has struck a mine in Kuwaiti waters, with the result that insurance premiums for Kuwait bound vessels have been raised by 33%.
