EC Resumes Aid to Syria
The European Community has agreed to resume the disbursement of aid to Syria, following the lifting Of the ban on senior diplomatic contacts with Syria, Syria's agreement to pay debit arrears to the European Investment Bank (EIB), and the visit to Syria by the EC's North South Commissioner, Mr. Claude Cheyssoa, on 4-6 September.
