Libya and Russia Signs Economic Pact
Libya and the Soviet Union signed on 14 October long-term agreements to develop economic, scientific and trade cooperation and agreed "to expand further bilateral cooperation in all fields," according to the Soviet news agency Tass. No details were provided about the agreement which was signed by Libyan leader Colonel Mu'ammar al-Qadhafi and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev.
