South Korean Firm Awarded Electricity Contract
Iraq's State Organization for Electricity (SOE) has awarded South Korea's Hyundai Engineering and Construction Company a contract worth $208.5mn to build four 400 KV transformer stations in the suburbs of Baghdad. The contract was awarded on a turn-key basis and is to be completed within 22 months. The project is part of a drive involving the construction of 21 similar facilities by end 1986.
