Chevron Suspends Exploration
Activities in the Sudan In a statement to the Sudan News Agency (SUNA) on 24 December 1985, the Sudanese Minister of Energy, Industry and Mining, Eng. 'Abd al-'Aziz 'Uthman Musa, said that Chevron of the US had notified his ministry that it intends to suspend its work for some time "to reassess its oil exploration findings so far." The company had drilled eight wells in the Muglad area in the Kordofan province - some 750 kms....
