Like other OPEC countries, Abu Dhabi is planning to base its 1986 crude oil sales, both to equity holders and third-party customers, on a market-related price formula.
However, unlike Saudi Arabia, Iran, Nigeria and some other OPEC sellers who have favored the product netback approach to crude oil pricing, Abu Dhabi is proposing a formula based on spot crude prices, similar to the system which has been in effect in neighboring Oman since January 1985...
