Despite last week's assertion by the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, Mr. Nigel Lawson, that cooperation with OPEC to stabilize the oil market "would be clearly contrary to this country's interests" (MEES, 17 February), the opposition Labour party Treasury spokeswoman, Dr. Oonagh McDonald, has predicted that if oil prices fall further the UK Government will eventually be forced to take joint action...
