Japan Lends Jordan $3.2mn
Japan has agreed to lend Jordan M578mn ($3.2mn) to finance the expansion of the country's telephone system, according to an announcement from Tokyo on 6 March. The loan is to be repaid in 15 years, including a grace period of seven years, and carries an annual interest rate of 5.5%. This loan brings total Japanese assistance to Jordan since 1974 to ¥45,785mn ($253mn).
