Czechoslovakia Lends Egypt $100mn
Czechoslovakia has agreed to lend Egypt $100mn to part-finance imports of equipment and supplies for the Talkha electric power station, a food processing plant, and a construction equipment plant, according to an agreement signed on 14 April. The loan is in addition to a $70mn agreement signed in 1984 for similar purposes. It is repayable over ten years, with a one-year grace period, and carries a 5% annual interest.
