Arlabank Profits Drop, New Capital Called
Net profits at the Bahrain-based Arlabank International declined from $20mn to $13.3mn in 1985, but the shareholders agreed on 30 April to increase its capital by $12.5mn to $225mn. Total assets slipped 8.3% to $1,699.6mn, with 70.2% held in Latin America, 13.3% in Arab countries and 14.1% in Europe.
