1986-87 Targeted Oil Output Scaled Down to 44.2mn Tons

Due to depressed market conditions, Egypt has decided to reduce its targeted oil output in the coming fiscal year July 1986-June 1987 by 6.1mn tons (122,000 b/d) from 50.3mn tons (1,006,000 b/d) to 44.2mn tons (884,000 b/d), according to the Cairo daily al-Ahram of 25 May. The new target for 1986-87 roughly matches actual crude output for the year 1985 which amounted to 44.3mn tons or 886,000 b/d (MEES, 21 April).
