20-25% Hike in Gasoline Price
Effective 28 July, Egypt raised the price of premium gasoline (90 octane) by 20% to 30 piasters/liter (about $1.62/US gallon at the official rate of $1.00=£E0.70) from 25 piasters/liter ($1.35/US gallon), and that of ordinary gasoline (80 octane) by 25% to 25 piasters/liter ($1.35/US gallon) from 20 piasters/liter ($1.08/US gallon).
